Conceptual Design of Repairs, Forensic Investigation, Litigation Support
Client: US Army Community and Family Service Center, Army Corp of Engineers
LBFG investigated and provided a solution to a $5.5 million HVAC moisture-related problem. We provided litigation support which resulted in the recovery of 80% of the costs. Plus, completed the HVAC design of the fix and provided technical support during construction.

Florida Resort

Building Envelope Moisture Forensics
A 350+ room resort facility with water-intrusion problems requiring fast-track moisture control measures and assessment to keep the facility operational. Investigation of building envelope moisture problems. Provided forensic analysis, diagnosis, and design of corrections of both the building envelope and HVAC systems. Total project costs exceeded $40 million.

East Coast Florida Resort

A 350+ room resort facility with moisture-intrusion problems (storm response) requiring fast-track moisture control measures and assessment to return the facility to full operation.

Omni Hotel, Charleston, SC

Investigation and Litigation Support
Client: Masonry contractor and Sinkler & Boyd, PA
This hotel underwent a multi-million dollar replacement of the building envelope. The owner placed a $20+ million claim against the masonry contractor. Two months after the repairs were completed testing predicted the return of the problem. The claim was successfully defended after monitoring proved the return of the problem and that the original diagnosis was wrong.
