Mr. George DuBose, CGC, VP of LBFG, conducted a Construction Café at the 2010 IRMI conference held in Orlando, Florida. The subject was “The Hidden Risks of Green Buildings: Why Building Problems are Likely”. The discussion highlights included the following:
- Why the very concepts intended to enhance a building’s performance make a building highly susceptible to moisture and mold problems
- There is strong evidence to suggest a direct correlation between new products/innovative design and building failures
- What is the greatest risk is green buildings that don’t perform up to expectations and may experience significant failures
November 2010
